Wedding in the Hunter!

After a week of selling, packing, cleaning and farewells, we set off in the truck and the little Citroen (still for sale if anyone is interested!) on part one to our trip to Brisbane.

First stop: Janine & Rob’s wedding in the Hunter Valley, where we had a great night with friends, good food and wine and views over the vineyards.

Day 2: you can’t leave the Hunter without sampling the local produce, so before hitting the road we visited a winery (Ernest Hill) for the “obligatory” wine tasting. We’re not experts but their Tempranillo wine wasn’t quite up to the Spanish standards; however, they do make a great Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz.

We’d like to finish this first post with a big thanks to Albert & Huy for looking after us over the last few days, to our friends in Sydney for the send-offs and to Dave & Jane for the loan of the truck!!
